Most works on paper are framed in archival materials
unless noted as “unframed.” Any framed art has a description in the
caption of each work. The size given in the caption is the
actual size of the art without framing.
Dimensions given in each caption are Height in inches x Width in inches.
The gallery frames a work on paper with simple white
archival, acid-free 100% rag mat board, 8 ply or 4 ply
thickness. If a work on paper has a dimension greater
than 30″ then it will be covered with plexi-glass rather
than glass to reduce its weight and the danger of breakage
during shiping.
We are happy to provide the framed size of an artwork
upon request. Works that are not framed are noted
as “unframed.” In a few cases there may be a “u” after
the price in the caption indicated it is unframed.
The framing is described but is not pictured.
We are happy to provide quick photos of the art as it is
framed, as well as providing its framed size if you request this.
To get a rough estimate of the total framed size,
use these tips:
For a framed and matted work on paper, add approximately
6″ to 8″ to each given dimension size.
For a work with a “shadowbox” (these are floater frames-
showing the entire work of art), add 3″ to the each dimension
of the size given in the caption.
For works on canvas or wood in a “simple frame”, add 2″
to each dimension given.
Other non-standard framing is described in captions as
works are sometimes in unique framing provided by
former owners of the art.
We will remove a work from its frame for no additional fee.
Below are examples of our standard gallery framed works
and how framed works correspond to the descriptions:
